Inland Empire Personal Injury Lawyer with National-Caliber Trial Experience
Jonathan L. King is a personal injury trial attorney at The Law Offices of Justin H. King in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He represents seriously injured individuals and their families across the Inland Empire and Southern California, including Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, Upland, Rialto, and Victorville.
Mr. King has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in both 2025 and 2026 for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, named to the National Association of Distinguished Counsel as among the top one percent of attorneys nationwide, and rated 10.0 (the highest possible) by Avvo. He has litigated to verdict 17 jury trials and more than 40 bench trials and has handled hundreds of matters across three jurisdictions.
Appointed Class Counsel, 2026. Mr. King and his brother Justin H. King were appointed class counsel in a certified statewide class action against National General Insurance Company on behalf of California policyholders.
Catastrophic Injury, Wrongful Death, and Trucking Practice
Mr. King concentrates his practice in cases involving life-altering injuries and the deaths of family members. His core caseload includes car and motor vehicle collisions, truck and commercial vehicle crashes, wrongful death, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and premises liability matters throughout San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles County.
He also handles government tort claims under California’s Government Claims Act — matters that require strict adherence to procedural deadlines that many private attorneys are not equipped to manage — and medical malpractice cases.
Class Action and Insurance Bad Faith Litigation
Mr. King is among a small number of Inland Empire personal injury attorneys with active class action experience. In 2026, he and his brother Justin H. King were appointed class counsel in a certified statewide class action against National General Insurance Company. Class certification under California Code of Civil Procedure section 382 requires the court to find numerosity, commonality, typicality, and adequacy of representation — a demanding procedural threshold that establishes the case may proceed on behalf of all affected California policyholders.
His broader practice includes individual insurance bad faith claims and complex coverage litigation against major carriers.
Trial Experience and Background
Mr. King is a native of Rancho Cucamonga. His father, the Honorable Jeffrey King, served as a Justice of the California Fourth District Court of Appeal for thirteen years following his service as a San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge. His mother, the Honorable Pamela Preston King, served as a San Bernardino County Superior Court Judge after a career that included work as Deputy District Attorney, civil litigator, and Deputy Public Defender. His brothers, Justin H. King and Oliver P. King, are his law partners at the firm; all three have been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in 2025 and 2026.
Mr. King began his career with summer associate positions at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Deutsche Bank, and joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in New York as an associate following law school. He left commercial practice to represent individuals, accepting a position as a public defender with the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Massachusetts and later with the Office of the Appellate Defender and the Office of the State Public Defender in Helena, Montana, where he tried felony and misdemeanor cases and argued criminal appeals before the Montana Supreme Court.
Mr. King founded his own personal injury practice, Jonathan King PLLC, in Helena in 2016. He later joined Doubek, Pyfer & Storrar, one of Montana’s most established plaintiff personal injury firms, where he litigated personal injury and civil rights matters in Montana district courts. He also served as a court-appointed mediator for Lewis and Clark County District Court in matters involving the Department of Child and Family Services.
Mr. King returned to Rancho Cucamonga in late 2021 and joined The Law Offices of Justin H. King in 2022.
