1 Sedan and Two Big Rigs Involved in Traffic Accident on the 60 Fwy Near Chino, CAChino, CA (December 8th, 2021) – On the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 8th, multiple vehicles were involved in an accident on the eastbound 60 Freeway in Chino.

The Chino Valley Fire Department states that the accident happened at about 2:52 a.m. on the 60 Freeway, west of Euclid Ave. According to official reports, the collision involved a sedan and two large commercial trucks.

Upon their arrival, firefighters worked to extricate one of the two semi-truck operators involved in the accident. Fire crews worked for around 35 minutes to free the trapped big rig operator from the cab of the truck. The trucker was rushed to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The eastbound lanes of the freeway remained closed as crews continued to clear the road.

The collision between all three vehicles remains under police investigation. Authorities have not identified the individuals involved in the accident.

In the State of California, large truck accidents are some of the most difficult traffic accidents to investigate. This is largely due to the many parties that could be involved in the accident. Despite the difficulty in investigating the case, it is important to thoroughly investigate the incident in order to determine what party can be held accountable for the accident.

In an instant, a large commercial truck accident can have disastrous consequences, particularly when the accident involves a collision with a smaller passenger vehicle. When a regular passenger vehicle collides with another vehicle of similar size, the outcome of the collision is likely to be much different than that of a collision involving a large commercial truck. While victims can sometimes walk away from a big rig accident with minor injuries, a vast majority of large truck accidents result in catastrophic injury.

Large commercial truck accidents can typically result in spinal cord injuries, broken bones, bone fractures, burn injuries, neck injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. In some cases, the accident can even result in wrongful death. Sadly, many of these catastrophic injuries will result in long-term pain and suffering, including emotional distress and financial hardship.

When a person is harmed in a large truck accident, victims have a legal right to pursue compensation for their injuries and economic losses. The negligent party that caused the accident has to be held accountable for the accident, unfortunately, the at-fault party will do everything possible to avoid liability. However, when the at-fault party is negligent in preventing an accident and this results in the injury or death of an innocent person, the party can be held responsible for the victim’s damages.

Further, in the State of California, large truck accident claims have a strict deadline. Under state law, injured victims typically have two years from the date of the discovery of the injury or the date of the accident to bring the case forward. A failure to file the claim within the allowable time limit will usually result in an invalidated claim, even if there is strong evidence demonstrating the at-fault party’s negligence. When the victim has lost his or her life as a result of the accident, the victim’s loved ones will also have two years from the date of the accident to bring a wrongful death claim forward.

Injured truck accident victims may be eligible for a judgment award or settlement that could reimburse them for their losses, including economic and non-economic losses. Depending on the facts of the case, victims may be eligible to receive compensation for past and future medical expenses, loss of income, pain and suffering, disability, loss of quality of life, and other out-of-pocket expenses.

Large commercial truck accidents involving gross negligence or a complete disregard for human safety can result in a punitive damages award. It is important to note that this is an additional damages award that is not regularly awarded. To ensure maximum compensation is secured, a well-versed personal injury attorney should be obtained.
